MA @ LCC / The way you feel shows on your face, 2009

This project is a collection of portraits of twelve people from twelve different countries, all of them London residents in 2009. They were asked to fill in a questionnaire grading the intensity of 14 feelings in relation to life in the city (happy / sad, confident / insecure, and so on). Subsequently I photographed them and the final portraits were defined by customized patterns, which were the outcome of a graphic system that processed the ‘emotional data’ previously collected.

In this sense, more 'positive' feelings generate a more solid and clear portrait whereas 'negative' feelings result in abstract visual outcomes.
