Festival International de L'Affiche de Chaumont / Being 20, 2009

Chaumont in France yearly hosts a major poster festival, which turns out to be one of the most inspiring design events I've ever been to. In 2009 as a MA student I joined their workshop along a bunch of cool kids from all over and the task was to design an A1 poster with low-tech tools only plus a photocopier. The design brief was 'Being 20' and my visual solution was simple yet inherent to youngsters on that age: the overwhelming sensation of decision making on big subjects in life, without much clue on where to go.

My tutors from Flag / Zurich were superb and as my design process is very computer-based, the workshop was quite challenging. And I was lucky to be awarded a second place afterwards.

2) COMPETITION ENTRY Few weeks before heading to Chaumont I designed a poster for the students competition, which had the same 'Being 20' brief. My idea was inspired by a Brazilian pop-rock song from the 1980's in which the 20-something generation is referred to as 'generation coca-cola'.
