ADG Brazilian Graphic Design Association / Copa em Cartaz, 2006

On the occasion of the Football World Cup in 2006 the Brazilian Graphic Design Association (ADG-Brasil) comissioned 30 designers to create posters based on the subject. The absolute lack of time and budget led me to design something quite simple yet conceptual, and restrictions turned out to be something to push creativity towards techniques I was not quite familiar with.

Illustration, collage, and cardboard convey the message: the issue of exporting players abroad at a very young age might compromise the development of football in Brazil in the long run. The posters were exhibited at Fashion Mall in Rio and auctioned for charity later on.

2) INSPIRATION This poster pays homage to Zico's marvellous first goal against New Zealand in 1982. Zico was probably the last major talent who had the peak of his career whilst defending a Brazilian club.
